My little business venture :)

So,I am going to sell rings and jewelry and such at craft shows over the summer with my sister! :D I'm super excited and I am buying a whole bunch of jewelry making supplies :) By the way i made more rings, and a pair of earrings :D:D

I made this awesome piece in acrylic with pictures imaged transferred antique pictures of people in it, and i really like it and i could make more.

RINGS!!!!!!

OH my Gosh!!! I started making rings and I can't stop it all started with one and it just went crazy from there :)

Sooo Psyched!

So today Mrs. W. told me that i could hammer the wire to make it flat, which makes it look pretty sweet. After messing around a bit with the new technique, I made a pendant out of paua shell and a tiny blue cab it looks pretty awesome and I'm excited to see what more I can do with this technique->

I FINISHED MY TURQUOISE BEZEL SET!!!

It took FORVEVER but I finally finished it. Its real turquoise set into sterling silver, It was kind of worry-some here and there because of how expensive the materials were, but I am so proud of it, plus it was fun to use the torches to solder the silver ;D Here's the pic ->

Necklaces

Here are two more of my necklaces:
the first is one i made from cutting out a keyhole from a sheet of brass, and i made the beads out of rolled sheet music =>



The second I made out of a glass cabochon* and sheet music I then wrapped the final piece in copper wire


*a cabochon, or cab, is basically a gem or stone that you can bezel set into metal, I'm currently working on bezel setting a turquoise cab into sterling silver as soon as I'm done I'll post pics :)

JEWELRY!!!!!!!!! yay

So... I've been going necklace crazy :D i made three so far and am working on two more. The first is made of copper that i dapped on a dapping block. Basically what that means is that i hammered the metal into a disc like mold to create an indent. Here it is ->

busy busy

So, I've been working on my Mucha Painting not really getting too far, cause I've been having artist's block. And i made a necklace and started a new necklace, pictures will follow once i find my camera. I've been working on this stuff and other class projects. We are doing some pretty sweet projects in my other classes, and i want to put the pics up of that too, just to show you all what else I've been making. Oh!! and the library was selling books a bag for a buck, and i got some awesome hard cover books!!! i and soooooo excited to make some more book art. More to follow... now where did i put that camera...

I got oil pastel on my watercolor of the old house and its gonna mess up the paint, i don't know what i'm gonna do, I will have to put it on hold for a while until i decide. I am sad about this, but i just gotta roll with it.

Special Piece

So i wanted to get my boyfriend a really awesome present for his birthday, so i decided to paint him a picture involving our two favorite songs :) i like how it turned out, and so did he :D:D

Sooo, with my mind as sporadic as it is i have started another project, this one is just a painting of an old abandoned house across the street. I decided to play around with my watercolors and practice some techniques.

Displays

During school between practicing music, lab, and other arty things, I have been helping Mrs. Partridge with the displays out in the lobby. You would not believe how many staples were put in those cases, it took forever to get them all out. Then while stepping down from the cabinet i ripped my jeans lol. So i spent a quarter of the period in the bathroom sewing them shut hahaha. Its a good thing i know where to borrow a needle and thread from at school (in the art room). Mrs. W. and i were laughing about it for the rest of the day. For the displays we're going to include on on photo club, which both Sarah and i are a part of. Were going to put in some pinhole cameras and some old photography from the club. I made my own pinhole camera a while back, and took a picture with it, but i pointed it into the sun so it didn't come out well :(

what ive been up too!

So alot has happened in the past week, i got into Tyler School of Art! i finished my piece that i had to do for them -> -> -> -> -> -> -> -> > -> -> -> -> -> -> -> -> -> -> -> ->

The assistant dean loved it and said it was the best one she had seen. I am really happy about how it turned out, and super excited that i found a new way to play around with my watercolor by ripping it apart and sewing it back together. I also used a lot of different media on it, including some snow accent paint i found from like 10 years ago in my cabinet.
